The Eastern Bluebird population struggled against the more aggressive European Starling and House Sparrow for nesting sites. The establishment of bluebird trails in the 60s and 70s helped the bluebirds make a comeback. My grandfather put up a bluebird nesting box on my grandparents’ back porch and looked for them to return each year. Each ornament is hand painted low fire clay; slight variations will be present on every unique piece. 4.25 x 2.25 x 2.5”
