P.A.T.W. the Americas: Firing
Saturday July 5th 10 AM-12 PM
Summer plans in the way of committing to a 6 week course? Sign up for an individual session (or a couple!) from my Pottery Around the World: the Americas series on Zoom.
Come on a journey with me! Let's learn about the fascinating history of pottery’s role in shaping the course of civilization and make pieces inspired by indigenous cultures of the Americas! In the Firing lesson we'll talk about different firing methods used by indigenous people of the Americas including pit firing, bonfire firing, types of fuels and firings for oxidation or reduction. Then I'll fire pots in a bonfire using a readily accessible backyard fire pit! The class will be conducted via Zoom, with plenty of time for Q&A as well as access to the recordings. After signing up students will receive a Zoom link as well as a course outline that includes a materials list and links to additional bonus videos and articles to add to our discussion.
